4th of July

We had a 4th of July for the books! Our friend Maria from Vavi (bowling) is learning to sail and her teacher(ish) invited all of us out on his boat. We had a really great time on the water!

We took this little tiny dingy over to the boat, there were 5 of us along with lots of food and beer. There were several points we thought we might be swimming to the boat :)

Who's that model?

All decked out in our red, white and blue!
I spy Ben!

Another group of boats anchored and tied together

If you know me (and you probably do because you're reading our blog) then you know how obsessed I am with fireworks. I could sit and watch them all.day.long. We witnessed what's called the Big Bay Boom... FIVE shows going on at the same time, all identical and perfectly timed! It was the highlight of my night :) And Ben, well if you know him, you know that this is what he was doing..

And as soon as the fireworks ended we started our journey home. A photographer came by while we were waiting for our Uber, he thought this was a great photo op so he took this for us. Pretty accurate as to how we were feeling that night. Not too long after this was taken we had the Uber ride from hell, but that's another story for another day.

Catch Up!

I really need to make a concerted effort to post regularly! We have been super busy, with not a lot of downtime so the blog has taken a back seat, but it definitely needs some attention! We just hit our 3 month mark of being out in San Diego. In one way, we can't believe its already been 3 months and on the other hand Ben and I feel like we've been here forever...in a good way! We've very much settled into life here, and have really made some great friends. Here are a few random snaps from the last month!

We love going to "Taste Of" events, although we can't move. We topped our last time and hit 26 restaurants!
Our friends who moved from NYC too :)
Frisbee Golf in Balboa Park, I was awful, even hit Ben in the head while attempting to make the basket...but Ben did pretty well!
Lowes has been our most frequented store recently...Ben has been busy building things for our apartment. Love him!!

St. Louis & Chi Town

Auntie Norma & I!! It was so nice to see you and spend time with you! Love you!

Uncle Jay & Jens first dance

On my way from St. Louis to Albany I took a bump on my flight with Southwest and had an awesome opportunity to spend the night in Chicago. I toured all around the city and had a great time! Can't wait to go back when I have more time to explore the city, and maybe this time Ben can come along too :)

#cousintime

Here are a few pictures from my too short trip to see my long lost cousin in Westchester. We had a great time of course catching up having Moscow Mules for the first time. New favorite drink!!

Point Loma Tide Pools

Before Ben left for Korea we headed to the tide pools. We weren't expecting a 3 mile hike to get there, but the views were worth it!

The Knox Wedding!

So were about a month behind on updating everyone! Here are a bunch of pictures of Haley & Kyles wedding in San Juan Capistrano. It was such a beautiful wedding and we got to see Maggie & Carlo! We had such an awesome time with them and are really looking forward to flying out to CO to see their new home!! So excited for you guys!
